Pisces: All-in-One

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

' hspace=

This is the time of year when we're all mystics, artists, dreamers. Like Pisces, we can pick up vibes and inspirations from invisible realms. We can resolve hidden patterns usually below our own radar. Like the Pisces Beatle George Harrison, we might also have strong spiritual yearnings, as expressed in songs like My Sweet Lord. "I really want to see you. I really want to be with you," he sings. It's a time when we can see God in everything a little more clearly.

Pisces is the last sign, and as L.A.-based astrologer Michelle Karen writes in Astrology for Enlightenment, "combines Aries' idealism, Taurus' indolent calm, Gemini's intelligence, Cancer's sense of humor, Leo's nobility, Virgo's attention to detail, Libra's fair and objective judgement, Scorpio's mystical insight, Sagittarius generosity, Capricorn's wisdom and Aquarius' humanism." It's everything swirled into one. That's why perhaps, there's a sense of tuning in, a quiet, because despite how it looks, there is so much going on!

It's a moist, mellow time before the Sun gets strong in Aries. This allows us to tune inward, and draw on every dimension of the self. After all, we carry the energies of all the signs of the Zodiac within us, too. We're part of it all, and it's within us.

Mars’ Angry Day

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

' hspace=

Mars direct today means more propulsion, more raw impulsive vital energy. After a long retrograde (since Dec 20th), what's been building is ready to explode. Watch out for destructive anger that just hurts. And stay alert to dangerously unhinged people that may just want to lash out.

But oftentimes anger is our friend! We need it to get riled up about the grave imbalances in our world! As Martin Luther King Jr said, "Anger at injustice is the political expression of love." And anger and frustration can also be a kind of divine discontent. It prevents us from settling for less than what we really are here to do. It revs us up, so we'll act. Retrogrades are said to have a fated quality, that the inward energies serve a purpose.

Since Mars has been in Leo, it's about following your true heart's desire. And it's about demanding respect and the right to pursue happiness.

Some possible themes today:

  • The f word shows up more in conversation.
  • Rising public indignation at being treated as serfs.
  • Answering this, "I'm going to die miserable if I don't ______________"
  • "I'm going to hurt somebody if I don't ____________."
  • "Hallelujah, I can now ___________!"

Pisces New Moon: Psychic Clutter

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

' hspace=

There are many ways to engage with the language of the stars. Michelle Bailey-Lessirard of New Moon Journal uses sky, story and art in a wholly original approach. She's a Pisces (Aries Moon!) who invites readers to make soul collages for each lunation. I know from making collages, this use of the imagination is a way of getting past the chatter -- what we think we know -- to the deeper part of the self.

As we near the Pisces New Moon, Michelle is offering a free New Moon with Michelle TeleCourse tomorrow (3/10), to drop inspiration into your imagination. And to help you shape your intent. On this lunation, she wrote recently "Pisces is the chaos we create when we are not connected to Spirit or the God of our understanding. The energy either creates with us [change] or against us [chaos]. There is a choice to be made at this new moon in Pisces on March 15th. Both paths lead to transformation."

I've participated in her TeleCourse, and was struck by how well she sets the sacred space. That's not easy to do when it's so disembodied via skype. But she is trained as a shamanic practitioner, as well as an artist, which aids her in holding the space. So I'm sure this will be a rich hour to ponder oceanic Pisces, in this quiet hush before all heck breaks loose (with planets in Aries and Mars direct). Michelle writes, "It is said in Pisces we face our unconscious fears and rightly so. Each lunation we go unconscious, each time we don't meet the challenge, the psychic clutter is stored in the Pisces area of your life."

You are the Mystery

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

' hspace=

There's great interest these days in secret societies like the masons and the mysterious illuminati. In an interview on CMN, author Etta D. Jackson says secret knowledge is being made public. She adds though, "It was always open to those whose eyes and minds were open enough."

Etta, a native Jamaican now a U.S. citizen, tells how the secret knowledge -- with its origins in ancient Egypt and Greece -- is about each of us as individuals discovering who we are. The occult (hidden) knowledge of the mind, is revealed now to help us transition to the Age of Aquarius. It takes us from the Age of Pisces, and relating to God in a mystical and emotional way, to Aquarius and knowing God through the mind. And out of that, we become enlightened and able to reshape society as a true brotherhood.

Etta says there's to be a "New World Order," but it's to be one of unity and oneness. She points out that America's founders were deeply rooted in occult mysteries, and the nation has an Aquarian soul (Moon) astrologically. Says Etta, "The United States of America is on tract to fulfilling its destiny under the guidance of and direction of the Adepts and Initiates who have worked in the background to ensure the success of the Divine Plan for this great nation."

I'm intrigued by her perspective, since she shatters the idea of a powerful hierarchy of secret societies lording over the rest of us. The lodge is Earth, she says, and those that seek to hold back humanity's evolution are in more darkness than the public. She says, "You have been made to believe they have power you don't have, but the opposite is true."

The breakdown of our institutions -- educational, governmental and financial -- is happening because they are not serving humanity. This secret knowledge, rising to public consciousness, will help us bring society back into balance based on universal laws. But first, she advises us to stop being so externally focused, to go inward. She says, "You are divine, sovereign, powerful and you are both God and man. And you are the mystery you have been waiting to find."

From Etta D. Jackson: "We must become serious about our journey here, because life is pushing us to become serious. You are capable and you are able to understand the truth about yourself."

Mars Mania

Monday, March 8th, 2010

' hspace=

Yeah, Mars is finally going direct this week! And already, I've seen people smiling for no good reason. The big day is Wednesday, the 10th, but you might already feel it mixed with the "hurry up Spring" vibe. It's been a long retrograde, since December 20th, the start of revisiting passions, old flames, the true longings of the heart. What's been pulling on you these last few months? And does it have something to do with your special destiny?

To use the gardening analogy, this retrograde has had us tilling the soil, composting, pulling weeds. Now that Mars is going direct, we may feel released to dig in and do. This grows stronger around May 17th, when Mars hits the degrees where it started the retrograde. This shows up in the houses where you've got Leo in the birth chart, and any planets it touches.

I picked this image especially for the article Shovel Ready Projects for the 12 Astrological Houses by Donna Cunningham and CJ Wright. There are practical groundbreakers for each house, ways to prepare for this energy burst. Mars has been in the 6th house (work habits, health) for me, and I've spent the winter dreaming of drama writing. I've been scheming inwardly, about how to manage my time, to make room for it. Since it's Leo, it's what gets the heart beating, and connected to how you're making your mark. It's finding a way to do what you love.

What's Mars been activating in your birth chart? Are you ready to be shot out of a cannon in the direction of your dreams?

Aries Horoscope for week of 03/08/2010 through 03/14/2010

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Think about tempering your usual bold approach with a smidgen of romantic subtlety as the week begins. Around Tuesday and Wednesday in particular, consider slowing down and cooling off. A little mystery adds a lot of allure, and while it may be counterintuitive, your progress toward a goal in the love department actually quickens. Look for sweet results on Thursday and Friday; these are super date nights too. Plan to take it easy this weekend, alone or with a sweetie -- and if you can do a lovely favor for someone, your own love karma benefits mightily.

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Beauty's only skin deep, and you're looking for loveliness through and through, aren't you? The beginning of the week is an excellent time to go beyond the obvious surface stuff with your honey or a potential one. By Tuesday or Wednesday, a new level of understanding can give you a better idea of your own heart's future. Then, if an oddity throws you for a loop at the end of the workweek, you won't feel the need to get bent out of shape. It's all a learning experience. This weekend, you and a certain someone are definitely on the same wavelength -- and it could be a hot one.

Gemini Horoscope for week of 03/08/2010 through 03/14/2010

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Partnerships are in the stars as the week begins, but that doesn't mean everything's crystal clear. In fact, you may need to take a proactive approach in order to figure out what the heck's going on. Be honest with yourself and others, and insist that they do the same. By Thursday or Friday, change is on the horizon when it comes to love -- and whether it's big or small, your attitude can make it all good. If you're not actually working this weekend, you might be preoccupied by work matters, but don't forget to fit in a little fun. The more creative you get romance-wise, the better!

Cancer Horoscope for week of 03/08/2010 through 03/14/2010

Monday, March 8th, 2010

If you feel like holing up and putting matters of the heart on the back burner at the beginning of the week, well, why not? Recharging your batteries and getting back in balance on a personal level is never a bad idea. When you get back into the swing of things -- maybe around Thursday or Friday -- you should be able to respond to a romantic situation with a good mix of heart and mind, rather than overreact emotionally or get too analytical. By the weekend, you're sitting pretty; the way you're relating to others, whether you're coupled up or solo, is lovely indeed.

Monday, March 8th, 2010

If you feel sort of woozy, a little warm and slightly delirious at the week's outset, the diagnosis is clear: Spring fever! Your heart's going pitter-pat, whether you're infatuated with someone in particular or the world at large. Take time to give your love karma a boost around Tuesday or Wednesday by dishing out some sweet compliments or even playing Cupid. At the end of the workweek, your temperature's hot, but you may have to cool your heels waiting for just the right thing romance-wise. As for the weekend, your creativity and sense of fun are contagious -- who do you want to catch it?
